Is ANANTA cross-platform? Cross-play and cross-save explained

ANANTA launches on four platforms on the same day, which makes everyone assume cross-save. NetEase has not confirmed it. Here is what is official, what is expected, and what to do before launch.
Short answer: the platforms are official, the cross-save is not. ANANTA arrives on four platforms at once, and that is exactly why so many pages state cross-save as a fact. NetEase has not said it yet.

Why everyone expects cross-save anyway
Three reasons, and they are good ones, but none of them is an announcement.
A simultaneous launch on PC, console and mobile. Publishers who ship on all three at once almost always tie progress to a single account, because players move between their phone and their main screen.
It is free to play. The business rests on players coming back as often as possible, on whatever device is in reach. Locking progress to one platform works against that.
It is standard for the genre. Big free-to-play action RPGs on mobile and PC now treat shared progress as normal.
So cross-save is the likely outcome. But “likely” is not “confirmed”, and community trackers note that NetEase has not published a cross-progression FAQ on its global site.
Cross-play is a separate question
Cross-save means your progress follows you. Cross-play means you can play with people on other platforms. It only matters if you play with others, and that depends on how much multiplayer ANANTA actually has, which is itself still a partial picture.
A game can offer cross-save without cross-play, and the reverse. Do not assume one because you read about the other.
PlayStation accounts are the usual sticking point
When cross-save does exist in games like this, the PS5 version is often where it gets complicated. Linking a PlayStation account to a publisher account is sometimes required, and sometimes limited for purchases. We will not guess how NetEase handles it. This section will be updated the day it is announced.
What to do before launch
Pre-register on the platform you will actually play on most. Pre-registration is free, and signing up on several platforms is allowed. How to pre-register covers each store.
Do not commit money to one platform yet. If you plan to buy cosmetics early and switch devices later, wait until the cross-save policy is published.
